leaves, full-on sick, wii

Pictures of autumn leaves were bound to appear

The season is happening fast. A cold front has dropped upon Ohio and strong winds are whistling around the corners. If I don’t get some quality leaf peeping in, I will be remiss.

Add to that, I think my throat tickle has transformed into a solid head and chest cold, or allergies. I’m not sure, but I didn’t let it stop me from standing in front of the strip mall at 9 am this morning to pre-order a Wii.

There were only three folks out front when I got there. By the time 10 o’clock rolled around, there were 25 people of all shapes and sizes. When the videogame store clerk came out and informed everyone that, due to allocations, they would only have 4 systems to sell, there was grumbling.

I was number 4.

The xBox 360 was the first console I skipped at launch. The Wii is the first console I have ever pre-ordered. Come November 19th, please hold my calls. Now, to find some tissues.

…seems like there’d be no better time for your hibernation than this weekend… curl-up with the Wii and bounce back for monday!

Glad you were able to get a pre-order Chris.
I’ve been very psyched about the Wii for a long time now. Canadian EB game stores aren’t having their pre-orders until Monday so I’d say I’m gonna be late for class that day.
I’m just curious to what games you’re gonna get at launch. I’m bummed that Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 are pushed back to 2007 but I’m still happy to get Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Red Steel and Trauma Center for launch titles. Wow, after November 19th I’m gonna be broke. But it’s Nintendo so it’s worth it.
And I hope you’re feeling better soon.

So far Eamonn, I’ve just put a few bucks down for Zelda on pre-order. I figure with that and the bundled Sports title, I’ll be fine until Mario and Metroid come out. Im also looking forward to rehashing the past with a few Virtual Console titles (though I’m not entirely sure what will launch to that end).

Congratulation on the booking of the fourth Wii! 🙂 I don’t know what console I will go with – seems like the 3 (xbox 360, Wii and PS 3) pretty much offers the same (Ability to play towards other on the same plattform)… A cool thing would be if they would release a game to all 3 plattforms and offer xbox360 play together with Wii consoles and PS 3 consumers.. now that would me buy a gen 3 console on the double…
