The kids are alright
I scurried back to Cincinnati and got my nap on before hitting the Southgate House to see Clinic perform.
A local group opened, Mallory, and they were good.
Then Ratatat came on and I had to shield my eyes a little. They were really animated in that, it’s almost painful to make music way. Their canned boom-boom tracks moved my butt, and pieces of plaster in the walls. Even though it was too loud… I liked the band. They’d fare well for a soundtrack for some art film.
Then Clinic came on, dressed in their scrubs, and it was cute. For a while. Then it got weerd. You could just see everyone’s eyes, and the bass player was head bopping to his own rhythm— and it just freaked me out for a bit.
