Hardware failure
The Sony LCD monitor on my PC blanks out to these whacky colored lines every once in a while. It does so with a nice soft cross-dissolve transition from whatever I’m viewing — usually some variation of porn if I’m on that machine.
If I squeeze the left corner of the screen really hard, the image snaps back and sticks around for a while.
